The Riverwood Community Centre is based in Riverwood NSW. The Community Centre does amazing work supporting the local youth, differently abled, seniors and many community groups in the area.
Michelle Newman (CEO) approached us regarding quoting their kitchen upgrade as there kitchen was old and tired and in much need of an upgrade. After meeting up with Michelle and finding out more about what the Centre did for the community we decided to offer to undertake their kitchen upgrade project at cost price. Michelle was very grateful for our offer and agreed to work with us to undertake this very important project.
It took a number of weeks to arrange everything required for commencement due to the fact that the community centre had many groups who relied on the kitchen so it was quite a logistical challenge for the centre to undertake.
Once we took over the site we had to strip out all the old equipment, joinery, ceiling and strip all the tiles off the walls. Once we were back to a blank canvas we could really get the ball rolling and start all the works required to transform the kitchen.
Firstly we had to get the gyprocker, electrician and plumber in to weave their magic and get all the ceiling grid and services in place.
Then the ventilation suppliers came and installed the hoods, fans and ducting for the kitchen.
Once these base services were all in place we could start sheet the ceiling, paint the ceiling and door and start tiling all the walls and floor.
When the tiling was complete we then went full swing into installing all the s/steel benches as required throughout the space.
Thankfully we had pre-ordered a lot of the stainless steel benches so they were nearly all ready to go when we needed them.
Once all the stainless steel was installed we had the equipment delivered and all the little niggly jobs started to get knocked off such as the final plumbing and electrical works, stainless steel capping, hand and soap dispensers etc.
Three and half weeks after we had taken over the site we were able to hand the site back to Michelle and her team.
It was truly a pleasure to work with the team at Riverwood Community Centre and we know the great work they do there will carry on in their nice new kitchen!
